"Sophia is a friend and former coworker of mine, so I knew of her adoration for and expertise with cats long before I asked for her help. When I was put into a position to take on the care of a second cat, Sophia was the first person I called. With Sophia's honesty, compassion, and thoughtful advice in mind, I agreed to foster sweet Henry (the beautiful brown tabby) for an unknown amount of time. Both Henry and my existing kitty Monica (the lovely seal point Siamese) had lived with other cats unsuccessfully in the past, so I was very nervous about this addition to my tiny studio apartment. Sophia came over to discuss litter box placement, vertical space utilization, introductions, and general cat enrichment with me. She also came with resources from a cat behaviorist for me to look through. I felt totally equipped to take on this responsibility and Sophia was available frequently to discuss concerns I had during the introduction process. The kitties had a rough start - there was hissing through doors, batting with claws out, and lots of anxiety on my part! Over the first couple months, we implemented many techniques to introduce them slowly including scent swapping, space swapping, and positive reinforcement with meals, treats, and play time. Though I couldn't imagine it at the time, Henry and Monica have grown to love each other like siblings. They began to eat together and play together, and their fighting became less frequent. They'd lived together for just seven months when they began snuggling and grooming each other daily. I am thrilled that all our hard work has paid off, and I must credit Sophia for our success. She is truly a cat behavior expert and I'm so thankful for all the consulting work Sophia provided over the past several months. I would absolutely request her consulting services again and I recommend her business to cat families all the time."
"Sophia is our go-to for all things cat. She started as our vet tech and helped us through the love and loss of our first cat and has since helped us welcome two new kitties into our family. Sophia treats cats like they are hers and gives them personalized attention and so many snuggles. As a cat-sitter, Sophia went above and beyond our expectations. She communicated with us regularly and made sure our kitties were relaxed, played-with, and happy. There is nothing nicer than coming home from a trip and knowing that our cats, and our house, were in great hands. Sophia is responsible and thoughtful and we welcome her presence in our home." -Dith Pamp Portland, Or.
"Sophia is lovingly referred to in our house as the “kitty whisperer.” Our cats are an important part of our family, so it says a lot that we can leave them in Sophia’s care and not have any worries. She has always been fabulous with our kitties, Socks, Sunshine, and Petie. Often times, before finding Sophia, we would come home after being away for a few days or longer and our cats would be upset and starved for attention. That all changed when Sophia started caring for them. No more crazy shenanigans from our kitties to let us know of their displeasure with us having been gone for a while. If you’ve ever had your pets let you know of their displeasure with you, then you will know what a relief it is to completely skip this step upon integration back home. :-) Sophia is incredibly knowledgeable about cats and how to care for them and it shows in the way that she supports us and them. She understands the beautiful, and sometimes crazy-making, nature of cats and cares for them in a loving and patient way. Our cats are elderly and she has been able to administer the medications and care that they need, which is a huge relief to us. Thank you, Sophia!" -Angela Wheeler Portland, Or.
"Sophia is my go-to for cat tips and advice!" - Arissa Walberg Portland, Or.
"Sophia is the best at what she does. With a background as a veterinary nurse, who better to have around should a problem arise? She's incredibly friendly, professional, and (most importantly) she truly loves cats and the work she does. As an anxious pet parent looking for someone I could trust to care for my two cats for a weekend, Sophia immediately put me at ease. She devotes time and attention to your pets, keeping them calm and happy, and caring for them like they were her own. Plus, she's great about daily updates and even the occasional kitty photo shoot. We will absolutely book Sophia the next time we need cat care!" -Kristen Houser Portland, Or.
"When my now husband and I planned a month long sabbatical for our wedding and honeymoon, our biggest concern was who would take care of our ‘kids’. We felt so grateful when our vet referred us to Sophia - who’s smiling face we remembered as a nurse from our veterinary practice -as she had just recently started her cat business. I never would have been able to manage one month apart from Piper (who adopted me pre-husband!) was it not for the obvious care and dedication Sophia gave to Piper. I got regular text, email, and even video updates of Piper receiving playtimes, brushings, and pets. Hearing her purr from 5,000 miles away was a huge comfort! When we came home, it was even more evident how well cared for Piper was. She had no issues going outside of her litter box while we were gone (which is usually her MO) and she even lost a little weight - which was a sign how much extra play she enjoyed in our absence. I would recommend Sophia to any cat owner I know. We feel so grateful to have her!" -Tracey Wyres Portland, OR.
"Sophia is everything you would want in a cat sitter - trustworthy, caring, knowledgeable, responsible, and kind. Her genuine love for cats is clear in every aspect of her care. While we are away, she sends frequent updates and pictures, making it possible to relax and know that the cats are having a lot of fun. I think they miss her when she hasn't been by in a while! It is such a relief while traveling to know that our cats are with someone who cares for them as if they are her own." -Jenny Tornqvist Portland, Or.
